Additional Platform Depth
*-Since the Extruded Aluminum Platform is comprised of 5-inch extrusions, the standard 55-inch loading depth can be extended to a maximum loadable depth of 70 inches (plus 12-inch taper). The platform can be reduced in size (in 5-inch increments) to 35 inches.

Torsion Assist Bar
All models (except GBR series) are supplied with a standard power open & close platform. If you prefer an assisted closure torsion bar instead, it is available at no charge when ordered with the liftgate. A Torsion Assist Bar is recommended for dock-loading or low bed height applications.

Model 95
A wide Model 95 (Gate Width 100 inches, Platform Width 95 inches) for 102-inch wide truck bodies is available for most configurations. Contact the Factory (1-800-LIFTGATE) for more information.

Model 79
A narrow Model 79 (Gate Width 84 inches, Platform Width 79 inches) for 85-inch wide truck bodies is available for most configurations. Contact the Factory (1-800-LIFTGATE) for more information.

Aluminum Platform Size Option:
Extruded Aluminum Platforms are available in depths up to a maximum of 70″ (excluding taper) in 5″ increments from the standard 55″ depth. The platforms can also be reduced in size (in 5″ increments) to 35″. Check out the other Rail Gate options.

Power Open and Close
|
|
Standard on all models of the Rail Gate series (not available on GBR models), the cam arm system powers the platform open and close.
|

Safety Trip Bar
|
|
The standard Safety Trip Bar, located below the Rail Gate’s enclosed hydraulic and electrical systems, will immediately stop the upward movement of the platform if any object becomes trapped between the liftgate frame and platform.
Tommy Gate’s Rail Gate Safety Trip Bar is standard safety equipment, exclusive to its class.

Aluminum Sliders
|
|
Extruded Aluminum sliders are standard on all Steel and Aluminum-framed Rail Gate models.
Aluminum Sliders feature polyethylene wear pads and operate smoothly with only lightweight oil. Using grease – which can congeal or attract road grit – is not recommended

Main Frame Box
|
|
The Main Frame Box cover is now removable with the platform in the up or down position. The electrical and hydraulic systems are located inside for easy access while being protected from the elements.
Located inside are the pump and motor unit, cables, cylinders, and:
-Pressure Relief Valve – Prevents the raising of the lift if the platform is overloaded.
-Molded Ground/Power Cable

Molded Power Cable
The dual-cable design allows a direct connection from the liftgate to the battery without needing a separate ground connection or ground strap.
|
All Liftgates come standard with a full-length molded ground and power cable and a circuit breaker.
The 150 amp circuit breaker with manual reset helps protect the electrical system.

-Cylinder-mounted Flow Control Valve – The flow control valve guards against uncontrolled descent in event of hose failure.
-Pump and Motor – Full-sized pump and motor unit have a two year warranty.

Drop Latches
|
|
Drop latches hold the Rail Gate platform securely when closed.
|

Mounted Fixed Control
|
|
Liftgates come standard with a curb side mounted control. For safety and ease of use, the control features:
- A – “Power On” LED light (blinking light indicates low-voltage)
- B – “Liftgate Enabled” LED light
- C – Main “Power On” switch, press to arm, press twice to reset low voltage
- D – Toggle-style switch is easier to operate with work gloves than push button controls.
- E – A reset button located under the logo is used to turn power onto the liftgate. A Timer deactivates the liftgate 90 seconds after the last operation. This helps control unauthorized use.
- Low-Voltage protection helps prevent electrical failure.

Aluminum Platform
|
|
The Extruded Aluminum Platform for the Rail Gate series is ideal when a larger than standard platform depth (standard = 55″) is needed.
The Extruded Aluminum Platform is available with a steel liftgate frame or an Aluminum frame, either in 1600 and 2000 lbs capacities.

Steel Gas Bottle (GBR) Model
|
|
The Steel Gas Bottle Rack model of the Rail Gate Series features folding fences and a folding ramp. The 12″ steel hinged ramp aids in loading and unloading.
The GBR models fold for easy storage while still remaining intact, ready for use.
GBR models are available in 2000 lbs capacity only.
GBR models do not offer Power Open and Close platforms.

Air Compressors
