There are two models of Cargo Van liftgates: the Original SeriesModel 64-P and the Model 650, which is mounted and stored inside the body of the van. The Model 64-P is a bolt-on application, mounted to the rear outside of the cargo van body.

If the rear doors or roof access ladder or other obstruction precludes mounting a gate on the outside of the body, the Model 650 mounts inside the cargo area, from the roof to the floor and stores inside the body.

The 64-P has a capacity of 1,000 lbs. and the Model 650 has a capacity of 650 lbs with a slightly different platform configuration.

Standard Features

Torsion Assist Bar

A Torsion Assist Bar aids in closing the liftgate platform. This is helpful for platforms with added extensions and tapers or when the platform is oversized.

Included with F11 extension

Available for the 64-P Van model only.

Main Frame Box

The Main Frame Box cover is now removable with platform in the up or down position. The electrical and hydraulic systems are located inside for easy access and to protect the systems from outside elements.

Located inside for the Model 64-P are the pump and motor unit, cables, cylinders, and:

-Pressure Relief Valve – Prevents the raising of the lift if the platform is overloaded.

-Molded Ground/Power Cable

All Liftgates come standard with a full-length molded ground and power cable and a circuit breaker.

Molded Power Cable

The dual-cable design allows a direct connection from the liftgate to the battery without needing a seperate ground connection or ground strap.

The 150 amp circuit breaker with manual reset helps protect the electrical system.

Circuit Breaker

-Cylinder-mounted Hydraulic Flow Control Valve – The flow control valve guards against uncontrolled descent in event of hose failure.

-Pump and Motor – Full-sized pump and motor unit with a two year warranty.

Trailer Hitch compatible

A Tommy Gate Cargo Van Series liftgate can be installed with many receiver-style trailer hitches.

Fixed Control

On the Model 64-P Cargo Van liftgate, an Optional Remote Pendant Control is available.

The 64-P Van model liftgates come standard with a curb-side mounted control. For safety and ease of use, the control features:

• A – “Power On” LED light (blinking light indicates low-voltage)
• B – “Liftgate Enabled” LED light
• C – Main “Power On” switch, press to arm, press twice to reset low voltage
• D – Toggle-style switch is easier to operate with work gloves than push button controls.
• E – A reset button located under the logo is used to turn power onto the liftgate. A Timer deactivates the liftgate 90 seconds after the last operation. This helps control unauthorized use.
• Low-Voltage protection helps prevent electrical failure.

Latex-coated chains reduce noise.

Pendant Control

The pendant control is available standard for the Model 650 Cargo Van Series liftgate and optional for Model 64-P.

For safety and ease of use, the control features:

• Toggle-style switch is easier to operate with work gloves or in cold weather than push button controls.
• A reset button located under the logo is used to turn power onto the liftgate.
• A Timer deactivates the liftgate 90 seconds after the last operation. This helps control unauthorized use. The control can be reactivated by pressing the reset button.
• Low-Voltage protection helps prevent electrical failure.
